Service in Action Girl Scout Troops support SVDP The Girl Scouts of the USA is the largest organization for girls in the world; they are 2.7 million strong with 1.9 million girls and 800,00 volunteers. Their mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who can make our world a better place. Two of our troops have done just this. In March HNM Troop 894 along with Covina Oaks Troop 421 donated 30 beautifully filled Easter Baskets for the children of clients who reached have out to SVDP. Each basket was lovingly created with items they paid for and then assembled; plastic eggs with candy, bubbles, chalk and egg dye kits. These Easter baskets brought happiness and excitement to the children on a holiday morning. They earned a special badge for giving back to the community. In April HNM Troop 4374 donated 125 cloth t-shirt bags filled with hygiene kits; hand sanitizer, Band-Aids, masks and other assorted items like socks and extra food. Their generous act of service earned them their Bronze Award. Congratulations to everyone involved and we are so proud they are part of our church family.
