FAITH FORMATION'S THREE-PART MODEL
Faith Formation at Holy Name of Mary parish fosters a life-long journey of discipleship for the whole family. Our primary mission is encounters with Christ, and our offerings encourage prayer, Bible reflections, rituals, service and faith conversations to take place in the family, both at church events and in the home. We view our role as supporting the crucial role of parents in the faith growth of their children. Our 2022-23 program includes the following three components:
Child sessions are typically held on the 2nd and 4th week of each month. Children attend one day during class weeks - choose from the following three options during registration:
For Year 1 & 2 Communion Preparation
October 2022 Launch Event (whole family)
Year 1 - $100 per Child
Year 2 - $120 per Child
We follow the Archdiocesan guideline that every child/teen participates in two years of a faith formation program prior to the celebration of sacraments.
To register, parents need to submit a Baptismal Certificate for youth preparing to receive their First Holy Communion OR a Birth Certificate for unbaptized youth preparing for full initiation (Baptism, Communion, Confirmation).
We need you to volunteer to share your faith! What does it mean to be a catechist or helper? Catechists and helpers are disciples of Jesus who are living out the call to share the Good News with young people. The primary qualifications are a love of the Lord and a desire to nurture the faith of children. Materials and trainings are provided.
