On June 30 at 7:00 pm, the Catholic Community of Holy Name of Mary will hold an evening of prayer, Eucharistic adoration, breaking open the Word and celebrating our unique identity in Christ. We believe in faith that each person is created in God’s image and likeness. It is wise for us to learn from our neighbors as God presents them to us. If we are open, each person can have something amazing to share with us to help us all grow in our faith and in love for each other. This is true of our neighbors of the LGBTQ+ community. They are God’s daughters and sons, too, and therefore our neighbors. Because these neighbors have often been made to feel less-than-welcome in so many settings (including Church settings), we will gather to empower the healing of our loved ones in the LGBTQ+ community and open our own hearts to how God might speak to us. We will welcome
Fr. Chris Ponnet Pastor, St. Camillus Center for Spiritual Care to lead our evening of prayer.
After the conclusion of this evening of prayer, may our hearts grow with the love of God. May our minds be stretched, a little more, to allow us to see Christ a little more clearly in each sister or brother who may journey on the path of life differently than our own experience. May we grow as a community to share the love of Jesus with all we come in contact with, beginning at home. It our my prayer for the HNM Parish Family that we truly live out our Christian witness that all are welcome . . . all belong . . . all are children of God.
