Stewardship? What’s that, you ask?? Well simply put, stewardship is a term used by parishes around the world that refers to the work that the parish does. For example, a volunteer is a person who gives of their time freely at the parish to further the commitment of our mission statement. They use their time wisely so as not to over-commit or take time away from other important activities in their life. They are really good STEWARDS of their time.
With that said, we want to become a more intentional stewardship parish by growing our gifts of time, talent and treasure for the benefit of others. We would like to kick off the New Year of 2022 with a Stewardship Council of our own so that we can move to become a “mission parish” out in the world. We here at Holy Name of Mary can do this because of your commitment to our mission statement.
So, if this is something that you think you might want to learn more about, please join us on Monday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m. in the church for a presentation about how we can become a more intentional stewardship parish. Fr. Chris, Lani, and Eddie will also be giving firsthand testimonies on the different events and stories they witness on their immersion trip going to the border in El Paso, Texas and entering into Mexico. During the meeting we will continue taking your recommendations about who should serve on this council so that we can start working on becoming a mission parish. Thank you for all you do as a good steward here at HNM. We could not do the things we do without every single one of you, whether it is through your time, your treasure or your prayers for continued success of our parish mission.
