This recognition is by far the most humbling experience that I’ve been a part of and the biggest honor! And while I am the one who is receiving this honor, there are so many dedicated Holy Name of Mary faculty, staff, and administrators who deserve our recognition and acknowledgment for the countless hours and boundless energy they invest in their students. This unimaginable and unprecedented scenario has brought out the best in all of you. The pandemic has shown in a multitude of ways how my HNM colleagues have all gone above and beyond these past few months for their students and one another. This award is not just the recognition of one teacher, but also of the community with which I work with.
Ultimately, it is the success of our students that garners the attention leading to this recognition. Our students are successful because of the leadership, and service each of us dedicates to our education and faith communities. I feel that teaching is the definition and demonstration of servant leadership. Our service facilitates opportunities to train and lead our students; inspiring in them the desire for a life-long commitment to our Faith.
'd like to thank my students who had a part in this award and acknowledge the challenges you have faced over the past months and express my sincere gratitude for taking the changes head-on. These are not easy days, and you have demonstrated resilience and patience. Thank you, parents, for your support and trust.
To my mentor, Dr. Antonio Felix. How could I ever express all my thanks for your mentorship? Truly I have been blessed to have your guidance and support.
Finally, I'd like to thank my family, who taught me a strong work ethic and the definition of integrity. Thank you for allowing me to be this year's Teacher of the Year!
